Breathing Exercises for Better Sex - Luvkis

Having sex is incredibly easy, however, there always are ways to enhance pleasure. Sure, we all know watching adult films or reading erotica can get you in the mood. Or how introducing sex toys into your bedroom allows you to explore new sexual adventures with your partner. Some of us might have even heard about how eating the right foods for sex can improve your sexual health. The problem is, however, that most of us are so busy thinking about these external ways of sexual stimulation, that we forget about our best asset: the mind.

When it comes to sex, the most important asset you own is your mind. We all know that our mind is an extremely powerful tool, so why not use it for sexual pleasure? There are a number of regular sex exercises that help you improve your sex life, however, these merely focus on your body, not your mind. Luckily for us, there are ways in which you can also train, or even trick, your mind in order to enhance your performance in the bedroom. One of the most powerful ways to do so is by controlling your breathing, which is why we’ll have a closer look at this topic today.

No matter what physical activity we engage in, breathing always plays an important role. Whether you’re walking up the stairs, lifting weights, or having sex - it is essential to control your breath. The biggest mistake most of us make is to hold our breath. No matter it’s at the gym or in the bedroom, most of us do not breath efficiently. As a result, both our body and mind are not working in the optimal way, which leads to lower results or satisfaction. This is why professional athletes are trained to use their breathing as a way to control their muscles while engaging in sports. The truth is that the same is absolutely true for sex. Once you know how to control your breath, you can enjoy an entirely new type of euphoria during sexual intercourse. And the best part of it all is that it is not even all that difficult to learn.

Benefits of sex breathing exercise

Breathing in a consciously controlled manner brings along a vast amount of benefits for a person to enjoy. By doing so you can, for example, overcome muscle tension and resistance. As a result of synchronizing your breathing, your body can better relax and deal with difficulties. This does, for instance, make both regular and anal sex easier and more comfortable.

But there is so much more too it than just relaxation. As mentioned above, it is common for people to hold their breath during exercise or sex. This does, however, lead to the fact that your body does not receive enough oxygen. As a result, your energy levels dip and you’ll feel tired much easier. When having sex, this may lead to a softer erection and drop in arousal which, naturally, results in shorter and less enjoyable sex. By controlling your breath, you can keep up your erection, delay an orgasm, prolong sex, and climax more intensely. And last but not least; oxygen gets you ‘’high’’. This simply means that the more you breathe during sex, the better you feel. And it goes without saying that, the better you feel, the better the sex!

How to do sex breathing exercise

Controlling your breath is essential but, luckily, not all that difficult. Simply follow the three steps below, and you’ll be well on your way to enjoy nicer and more intense sex.

1) Take long and deep breaths

The basics of controlling your breath for better sex is pretty much the same as the breathing exercises you perform during yoga class. If you are familiar to yoga, you surely know that the instructor will tell you to breathe from your abdomen. To do so, you use your stomach muscles in order to pull all the air into your body. Mastering this breathing technique can be a little tricky at first, however, once you know how to do it, it will go almost naturally. Knowing how to apply this breathing technique is certainly worth the effort, not only for better sex but also for feeling better in everyday life.

2) Breath in a synchronized way

One way to increase the intimacy during sex with your partner is by synchronizing your breathing. Sure, the last thing we want to think about during sex is to keep count, but believe us - it’s worth it. The best sex breathing pattern is to inhale slowly for 5 seconds, hold the air for 3 seconds, followed by a slow exhale for 7 seconds. After you have breathed out, pause for a second or two before inhaling again. Naturally, it is not realistic to maintain this breathing pattern throughout the whole sexual act. Nevertheless, it’s a good guideline to try and follow. And by matching your breathing pattern with that of your partner, both your bodies will feel like one.

3) Slow down your breathing

Once you are getting close to an orgasm, try to slow down your breathing and surf the sensational feelings and experience. It is a little-known fact that your breathing style has a direct influence on your climax. Normally, a person starts to breath heavier and faster while he is experiencing an orgasm. In some cases, we might even hold our breath. This does, however, lower the sensations. The secret lies in controlling our breath and slowing it down. By doing so, we can delay our orgasm which, in turn, results in a more satisfying climax.
